Hearing God in a Noisy World
Kayla Harden, Pastor of Congregational Connections | February 10, 2026
Last week, I took my boys to a glow dance party at their school. They had so much fun getting to see their friends and playing with glow sticks. Like most school dances, it was really loud. The music, a combination of early 2000’s dance music and Disney soundtracks, was so loud that I couldn’t hear what my son was trying to tell me.
Sometimes, life can feel so loud that it’s hard to hear the voices that really matter. It feels like every day we are bombarded with media that either makes us angry or feel like we’re not good enough. Our schedules are full to the brim and any extra time is spent scrolling on our phones. Our lives are loud.
But what would happen if we turned down the noise to hear the voice of our creator? What if, like followers of Jesus have done for centuries, we spent the 40 days leading up to Easter turning down the volume?
Beginning March 1, we invite you to join us for Rhythms of Grace, a journal and group experience that gives us gentle, intentional practices that shape us over time. We invite you to join one of our groups as they journey through these rhythms together. You can sign up to join a group by clicking here.
If you want a sneak peek at the journals, click here.
These journals can be accessed online or we will have physical copies available in the Info area soon! If you have questions, please email Pastor Kayla at kharden@es.church.
